Founded in 1995, Restaurant Litoral was Macao’s first restaurant dedicated to Macanese cuisine. Its founder, Manuela Ferreira, is Macanese and established the restaurant based on culinary skills passed down through her family. Today, the restaurant is operated by her son, Adriano Ferreira. With family recipes and refined culinary techniques inherited from a prominent Macanese family that has been established in Macao for 400 years, Restaurant Litoral has earned more than 20 authoritative honors, including repeated MICHELIN recommendations and Trip.com Gourmet Gold recognition, thanks to its deep cultural roots and consistently outstanding food quality.
The restaurant specializes in Macanese cuisine, blending Chinese, Portuguese, Southeast Asian, and other culinary influences. Its dishes carry the history of cultural exchange between East and West. Signature dishes such as Cabidela Duck, African Chicken, and Macanese Stew (Tacho) are prepared according to traditional family recipes, with careful attention to ingredient sourcing and culinary detail. For example, the sauce for African Chicken is carefully simmered to achieve depth and balance. To ensure quality, some of the restaurant’s core dishes are available by advance reservation.
Through years of culinary experience, sincere hospitality, and an unwavering commitment to quality, Ms. Ferreira has earned Restaurant Litoral a lasting reputation. The restaurant’s interior combines elegant European-style décor with Chinese decorative touches, creating a distinctive atmosphere where East meets West. Through the dining experience, guests can experience the true charm of authentic Macanese cuisine. With just one taste, they can understand what Ms. Ferreira describes as one of Macao’s earliest forms of “fusion food.”
