Gotte opened in January 2019 as Macao’s first omurice restaurant. At a time when only two other Japanese restaurants in the city served omurice, Gotte changed the game by offering three distinct egg styles, including Macao’s first swirl-shaped and runny-yolk varieties. To this day, Gotte remains the only restaurant in Macao that offers all three egg styles and serves lava omurice. The restaurant employs a “customizable ordering” model, offering seven secret-recipe sauces and over 50 side dishes to create a personalized dining experience with more than 900 possible combinations.
Gotte’s lava omurice features Japanese eggs cooked to perfection with proprietary heat control and flipping techniques. This results in a firm exterior enveloping a runny interior. The seven house-made sauces, including mildly spicy curry, chocolate curry, and apple and red wine sauce, are freshly prepared daily. Additionally, Gotte pioneered the “Three Dishes from One Fish” experience. The restaurant sources fresh fish airfreighted from Japan and offers 30 different cooking methods, such as steaming, simmering, making sashimi, pan-frying, and deep-frying. This reflects its absolute devotion to quality ingredients and culinary craftsmanship.
Through its food and ambiance, Gotte tells stories of reunion, hope, and human connection. It has witnessed the growth of countless diners and has become a heartwarming sanctuary in their lives. Over the past seven years, Gotte has set the gold standard for omurice and Japanese fresh fish cuisine in Macao with its two branches, establishing itself as a uniquely creative culinary brand in the city.
