JOC Square is a Macao-based company dedicated to curating and developing content centered around local culture and design. The company operates with a core mission to seamlessly integrate design with commercial marketing and culture, transforming it into a sustainable brand while also offering immersive, hands-on experiential projects.
Most products from the cultural and creative brands founded by JOC Square have achieved international recognition, making JOC Square the only cultural and creative company in Macao to attain this milestone. Its signature Macao-inspired brand, Batata (Beijo-B), has won numerous accolades, including the Excellent Award at the German Design Awards 2020 and the Gold Award at the American Graphic Design Awards. The Batata product line currently features t-shirts, leather bags, tote bags, and backpacks. On the second floor of the shop, visitors will find a boutique printing museum called O-Type Museum. It showcases the Dictionary of the Chinese Language, printed in Macao over two hundred years ago and recognized for setting multiple world records. The museum also houses classic European letterpress machines and a collection of rare miniature letterpress machines. Visitors can hand-print classic original prints from decades ago, gaining a firsthand understanding of the letterpress process from centuries past. The space stands as Macao’s only letterpress art workshop and printing museum.
As a Macao-based design and cultural brand committed to a global perspective, JOC Square masterfully integrates its brand concepts, local culture, Macao’s illustrious history, and contemporary design. In doing so, it beautifully showcases the city’s unique inclusivity and the harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western cultures.
