Founded in 2013, D’light Dessert Cafe has been rooted in Rua da Ribeira do Patane in Macao for more than 13 years. It is a neighborhood café centered on creative Western cuisine and desserts. Founder Stanley Lu honed his culinary skills at five-star hotels such as Galaxy and MGM Macau. Hoping to bring hotel-quality food into the community, he personally oversees the development and preparation of every dish. A painting displayed in the café that reads “those who persist never lose” best reflects his commitment to quality.
D’light’s menu brings together Chinese, Western, and Thai influences. Signature creations include spaghetti with pork neck in fermented bean curd creamy sauce, known as the “Macao-style Carbonara,” risotto with minced pork in Chinese salty fish cream sauce, and Baked Tom Yum Cheong Fun with Cheese. Vegetarian options account for around 30% to 50% of the menu and are prepared without the five pungent spices, including vegetarian salty fish with omni pork risotto, as well as a vegetarian version of spaghetti with fermented bean curd creamy sauce, catering to different dietary needs. Other highlights include house-baked sea salt chocolate cookies, D’LIGHT’s signature tiramisu, and 3D latte art coffee featuring characters such as Aliens and Shiba Inu, making the café a popular photo spot.
D’light is a “Macao taste memory laboratory,” boldly recombining local food memories such as fermented bean curd and salted fish with Western cooking techniques. With a spirit of creativity, quality, and warmth, the founder has stayed true to his original vision for 13 years, making the café an essential neighborhood dining hub in the Patane area and offering diners a surprising culinary journey.
