Ting Mat Mat traces its origins to the 1970s, when Mrs. Yeung, an overseas Chinese from Myanmar, began selling Burmese snacks in the Rotunda de Carlos da Maia in 1978. The brand has preserved traditional Burmese-Chinese flavors and has now been passed down through two generations. It is currently run by her eldest son, Mr. Yeung, who spent more than 20 years learning Burmese cooking from Mrs. Yeung and has mastered the traditional techniques behind signature dishes such as mohinga and ohn no khauk swe. The brand now operates three branches, maintaining consistent flavor and quality across the city. In 2023, it was selected as a Quality Tourism Services Merchant Award recipient under the Quality Tourism Services Accreditation Scheme.
